I started my search on YouTube for sounds of water falling, and much to my dismay there are quite a few sites to choose from. Ah, YouTube..Where would we be without you? More interesting was how many hits some of these sites have. This one here has 70,000 hits to listen to the sounds of water! I guess many of us like the sound of falling water. Let’s face it. It puts us all in the state of relaxation and many homeowners are capturing these sounds to place in their landscapes.

Water features can help turn your landscape into something special, providing a focal point, attracting wildlife and reducing unwanted noise. A custom water feature can range from fountains, pools, ponds, and cascades. The majority of water features today are powered by electric pumps, but as landscape designs become more earth friendly, solar power is finding its way into design as well. Modern water features are typically self-contained, meaning that they do not require water to be plumbed in; rather water is recycled from either a pond or a hidden reservoir, also known as a sump. The sump can either be contained within the water feature, or buried underground (in the case of an outdoor water feature). Water features will instantly add tranquility to any yard or landscape. The allure of a water feature, is while it adds dimension to the landscape it also brings the quiet enchantment that only falling water can bring.
