7 Cocktail Sippers to Drink This Summer

poolside_drinksNow that Summer has finally started to peak its head from all the rain and clouds we can start planning this summers best poolside party. And what is a poolside party without a signature cocktail?

Here are 7 Poolside cocktails that are great for a hot summer day or night and will cool off your guests and leave them wanting more!

The Skinny Dipper
2 oz. Voli Lemon Vodka
2 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. strawberry puree
1/2 oz. agave nectar
prosecco to top
Shake all ingredients except prosecco and strain into an ice-filled 16 oz. cup. Top with prosecco and garnish with a strawberry.

Rooftop Oasis
1 1/2 oz. Jose Cuervo Silver Tequila3/4 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
6 blueberries
club soda
Muddle the blueberries at the base of a tall glass. Add tequila, lemon juice, and simple syrup and stir very well with a spoon. Top with ice and stir again until some of the ice has melted. Add a splash of club soda and garnish with a lemon wedge.
 
The Slip n Slide

1 1/2 cups light rum

3 cups freshly squeezed orange juice

3 cups fresh pineapple juice

3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

2 tablespoons cranberry juice

2 tablespoons grenadine

Ice cubes

1 lime, thinly sliced, for garnish
In a large pitcher combine the rum, juices, and grenadine. Stir until blended. Fill glasses with ice and pour mixture over ice. Garnish with lime.

The Itsy Bitsy Yellow Bikini

1.50 oz. Ketel One Citroen Vodka

2.50 oz. fresh lemonade

1 piece lemon wheel
Shake vodka and lemonade with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Strain into ice-filled highball glass.

Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Some Beach

1 bottle fruity red wine

2 cups pomegranate juice

1/2 cup brandy

1/2 cup Triple Sec

1/4 cup simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water, heated until sugar dissolves, cooled)

1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

1 large orange, halved and thinly sliced

1 green apple, cored, halved and thinly sliced

1 cup red grapes, sliced in 1/2

Combine all ingredients in a pitcher, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 48 hours before serving. Serve over ice.

Watermelon Splash

1.50 oz. Don Julio Blanco Tequila

0.50 oz. lime juice

0.25 oz. agave syrup

1 slice watermelon
Muddle watermelon and agave syrup, add rest of ingredients, and shake well.

Double strain into a frozen martini glass.

Garnish with a watermelon slice.
Belly Flop
6 Thai Leaves
1/2 oz Fresh Orange Juice
1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
2 oz Hibiscus Vodka
Ice
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the basil leaves with the orange and lime juices and the Simple Syrup. Add ice and the Hibiscus Vodka and shake well. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass and garnish with the basil sprig.
