Its that time of year..Brews and Brats. One of Diamond Spas friends, Mike Deborski of Old Style Sausage in Louisville, Colorado was approached with a challenge. One for the Guinness book of world records. The challenge was to make the longest Brat EVER! Well Mike went to task and asked Diamond Spas to help with part of the big BRAT. Mike needed a stainless steel tray to fit that long bratwurst. So that’s just what we did. Make a REALLY, REALLY BIG TRAY.

Here you have it. A whopping 160 pounds of Brats! Now for the next challenge. How do you cook all that meat?
A local gutter company came to the rescue and made a 150 ft long gutter, filled it with charcoals and a custom grill screen and started up the heat.
Now, how to get that longest BRAT on to the custom “grill”? Very… Carefully… Oh and 50 nice volunteers to delicately pick up the brat at one simultaneous moment and lay it on the grill.

And then comes the beer sampling. Our very own Jenny Hart (Diamond Spas Ross’ better half ) of Lefthand Brewing Company in her lederhosen was there to hand out samples.
We are still waiting to see if the BRAT is now the official winner of the Guinness book of world records but the real winner of the day was the Flood victims of Longmont CO. All proceeds which totaled $50,000 that day went to the victims of the recent floods!
