When it comes to remodeling or building a new home, there are many decisions to be made, and a majority of those decisions need to be made for the bathroom remodel alone since this is where a bulk of your plumbing, electrical and space planning is involved.
Knowing all the options that are available to you before meeting with your general contractor, architect or designer will help you from making hasty choices . From these descriptions, determine what bathing experience you prefer and discuss your preferences before any bathroom fixtures are ordered.

Soaking tubs are becoming the new standard in bathroom design as their look has a more modern fresh appeal.  Typically soaking tubs are deeper than standard tubs and sometimes shorter as well. Also known as freestanding tubs, these soakers can be placed in the center of the room with floor mounted bath fillers and a spotlight showcasing the tub. Soaking tubs usually are skirted on all sides which means that all the sides are finished from top to bottom so one can walk around the tub and not be able to see any exposed plumbing. It is common to see these tubs in rectangle shapes, but elliptical and round shapes are starting to come available as well. With these deeper tubs, the bather is able to get a deeper soak with some tubs even having options for reclined seats like a lounger chair.  The bathing area is typically supported by feet or a decorative base.

Whirlpool Tubs – Whirpool tubs have the same look as tradional tubs typically but the difference is the jetting systems. Precision aimed jets of water are placed in the tub for relaxation and massaging effects to the muscles and body. In custom tubs, strategically-placed jets are fabricated into the tub to target different parts of the body for deep tissue massage.
