Omaha hosted the Swim Trials in 2008. It’s the biggest competition before the Olympics, which are in London this year. So far this year 1,600 athletes have met qualifying standards making it one of the largest team trials to date. Four years ago 1,100 athletes came to Omaha in 2008 for the Trials.

The CenturyLink Center is completely transformed when a portable commercial pool is brought in to the arena which is the home arena for Creighton BlueJays (Basketball) and UNO Mavericks (Hockey).

Missy Franklin

USA Swimming fans can expect to see familiar faces, such as Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte. But the new Olympic swim darling is sure to be Missy Franklin, who hails from Colorado and holds the record in the 200-meter backstroke (short course) and the American record in the 200-meter backstroke (long course).
