With the holidays just around the corner, our thoughts always go that great food that we love to delight in-Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Prime Rib, holiday cookies… But before we can start thinking about eating, we must start with the those great chefs who are behind all the holiday cooking.

A poll was recently done asking professional chefs what they prefer in their personal kitchens, and the answers surprised us. I assumed marble counter tops and expensive saute pans. Surprisingly what they listed first was large counter space, deep apron sinks, and ample refrigerator space. Counter space is essential they said for sprawling out their ingredients and doing their magic.

Another must was the kitchen sink. A big, deep kitchen sink is a must for chefs; it needs to be generously sized to accommodate large pots. “I love my deep custom copper kitchen sink,” says Chef Millhouse. To be able to stack dishes and large pots is a must in the kitchen”. Some preferred having more than one sink. One for stacking dishes, while the other used as a prep sink.

Appliances that topped the list was refrigerators. It was more about space than it was about branding here. Chefs preferred refrigerators that could hold large trays of food for dinner parties while other chefs reported that they opted for a smaller second fridge in the home.
