Jazz up your next pool party with flamingos, swans, pizza slices, donuts, popsicles, emojis, unicorns, and other fun and unique shaped pool floats. For a main dish, skewered food like steak and pepper kabobs or lemon chicken skewers are easy to make and eat.
Be sure to have plenty of drinks to keep your crowd hydrated while they’re enjoying the summer sun. Have plenty of bottled water on hand, along with some fun drinks for the young and old. Think juice boxes or a bowl of punch for the kids and a signature cocktail for the adults.
Have a theme. Make things festive by creating a theme throughout your decorating, food, drinks, and games, starting with your party invitations. Use plastic leis and grass skirts to create a luau theme, or decorate with netting and seashells for a day at the beach. Colorful drink umbrellas will add a touch of whimsy to your guests’ drinks. Set up lawn games, too. Not everyone will want to be in the pool at the same time, so have lawn games for your guests to enjoy. Bean bag toss, horseshoes, croquet, or frisbee. Have some table games available like cards, dominoes, and board games for those who like to sit in the shade. For a fun adult activity, bring in a sommelier for a mini wine tasting session.
Crank up the tunes! Hire a DJ or karaoke company to provide music to party by. If you’re going with a luau theme, be sure to include some Hawaiian music. If your theme is a day at the beach, who better than The Beach Boys to provide some good vibrations that will get the crowd up and dancing. For a twist on musical chairs, play a game of musical beach towels where the loser is forced to jump back in the pool.
