Seeing Stars in your Luxury Swimming Pool

Lighting can be a very important aspect when building your pool and spa. Adding LED lighting can really transform the look especially at night. I love how the LED lighting is used in this pool, giving it a starlight look.  Now this pool has a lot of LED lights and may take a bit to change out lights, but on a smaller scale this is definitely doable.  Setting the lights into the pool transforms the pool into a rich abstract landscape.

FiberStars makes this cool floor system that uses fiber optics and LED lighting which gives off a star light visual effect.

The Best of Bubbles in your Beautiful Tubs

Beautiful Tubs aren’t just meant for you and the water.  If you are a bath lover like myself,  you probably enjoy some luxurious smelling foamy bubbles to soak in.  There are many brands of Bubble baths to choose from.  Some sold as foaming baths, gels, or foamy cleansers.  The reviews of these bubble baths took top marks.  From the “intoxicating smell” to the skin softening properties, add some of these bubbles to your next soaking!

I am a fan of everything Laura Mercier.  She has a line of bath and body washes, one named after sweet treats. The Creme Brulee Honey Bath smells of just that..a yummy dessert. The jar is reminiscent of an old fashioned honey jar with wooden honey dipper.

Burt’s Bees BABy Bee Bubble Bath.  Yes you read that right.  I had to take a double take myself when researching my material.  Burt’s Bees whose known for their natural products has come out with a product line for babies.  The stuff is so good that adults without children are buying the product for the great smell, great bubble production and there are no harmful itchy ingredients!

I have to admit I have never heard of Badedas before, but WOW does it have a following.  Only made in Europe, the green bubble bath is supposedly superb.  “Liquid Green Gold” is how one person reviewed the product.  Clean smell of pine and great amount of bubbles.  The reviews on this was so over the top that I must try it!Philosophy does a great job with their scents and charming packaging.  There are many different scents to choose from, Amazing Grace, Cinnamon Buns, and Margarita being some of the top picks. The formulas are so good that they leave your skin smelling good enough to eat and soft and subtle.

Kiss My Face Bath and Shower Gel is a brand that uses only natural ingredients. Be waned the scent is Patchouli, so if you are not a fan of that scent, you won’t like it. But if you are, you will like the moisturizing bubbles and the calming scent. Oh Patchouli..Reminds me of those good ole college days.

LAVANDE is a lavender infused  foaming Bath by L’Occitane. The peaceful smell of the lavender has a calming effect and bubbles that don’t overtake you.  The only complaint was that the bottle wasn’t big enough!

Sugar Lemon Bath and Shower Gel by Fresh is scented with zesty citrus.  Used as a cleanser and bubble bath, this two in one formula may have you lounging for that much longer.

VitaBath Gelee has been around for many years and has loyal fans to prove it.  Scented with scents of pine this bath gelee is adored by women and men alike.  Reviewers swear by the stuff using it for upwards of 30  years. Also said to be great to use as a shaving lotion and shampoo.

Luxury Hot Tub Fit for a King

If you are living in Boise, no doubt you have read about, and mostly likely taken a drive by the famous Boise Castle. The 6,000 square foot Medieval inspired home was designed by internet entrepreneur, Tim Barber.  Known for his start ups ClickBank and Kount, Mr. Barber got his inspiration from castles around the world including France, Germany and Bermuda and movies The Holy Grail.

Boise Castle under Construction

The private residence is located in the historical district of Boise, where neighboring homes are architecturally totally different.  While some of the neighbors are not too happy with the “unique” new home, many are intrigued by the pure artmanship that is going into this large scale project.

Boise Castle In Completion

The modern day castle still includes some of the Medieval architecture features such as a round table and secret passage ways, but include some modern day advances such as an elevator, heated rooftop and the best feature of course …the custom stainless steel hot tub. The construction process took 25 months until it was completed. Eat your heart out Queen Elizabeth!

Each order that comes through our doors is made one at a time-unique to your requests. From the initial order, we have our design engineers at work putting in place your exclusive specifications.  From size, shape, materials, jetting and lights, we begin the custom process.  Each piece of sheet metal is cut, bent, and welded into your ultimate design. This beautiful mahogany and copper tub was a design that was brought to us by a client who wanted to bring out the woodwork in his home.  This was a challenge that we had never taken on but with our seasoned welders and craftsman, we knew we could do it. Look at the outcome! The copper and mahogany are brilliant together! Let us make your vision a reality–the neighbors will be droolling!

With triathlons becoming wildly popular these days, competition for athletes pool time and space is becoming harder to find.  With limited pool availability, masters classes, club teams, and swim lessons, trying to find an open lane can get tricky.  This may be some of the reason that home swim spas are becoming quite popular among the triathlete and swimming crowd.  Many of these talented athletes are training every day: swimming, running and biking and still juggling these activities with their day jobs.  Time becomes an issue when trying to get it all in. Having a swim spa at home saves the athlete that extra time on the road to the gym, avoids the overcrowded pool and eliminates the chlorine that is found in majority of pools today.

Diamond Spas Booth at Barcelona Trade Show

Well, it has now been a few weeks since we have been back from our amazing trip to Barcelona.  The Picina Trade Show at the Fira Convention Center went on without a hitch err except we forgot to hire a translator…  Not to fear we found a lovely lady by the name of Goiatz Aduriz Olaziregi (who happened to be our trade show coordinator) to lend us her translating skills for the week.  She was amazing, so much in fact we hired her to represent Diamond Spas in Spain.

Barcelona Spa

Our products were a huge hit at the show.  There were visitors from all over the world including Israel and Russia who especially loved our work.  We brought two of our products from back home, a high end hot tub, and a luxury bath. The copper spa seen here-now dubbed-The Barcelona literally stopped visitors in their tracks. We heard great feedback from international folks on much how they appreciate the quality of American goods!  That made us feel good about what is being done in the USA!

While we were in Barcelona we got a chance to take in some of the sites and enjoy some fabulous red wine. Here are a few of the images that we took in while we were there.

This amazing church in Barcelona-Church of the Sacred Family (Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia) was unbelievably cool!  We learned the building process began in 1882, and is still under construction. So for those of you who are remodeling and have gone over your completion date, no complaining eh?

Everywhere we looked there was great architectural details, including this one surrounding a very old window.

From the old to the new, this graffiti was amazing and showed the tremendous talent of the artist.

Our last few days of the trip we headed to the former fishing village of Sitges.  The town is known for their beaches, culture and nightlife.  We sat one day at a cafe and laughed and how the locals paralleled parked.  As you can see from this picture, it is literally bumper to bumper.  If the parking spot was a tad too small they would “nudge” their way in, bumping the cars in front and back. Could you imagine that in America? It was hilarious to watch!

Our last day of the trip we sat beach side enjoying our red wine taking in the last views of Spain!

Taking the Numptia Super Yacht for a Spin

One of the most prestigious yacht shows in the world is the Monaco Yacht Show which is known for the elaborate yachts on display. This year was no disappointment for amazing motor yachts despite the drop in sales in 2011. Unveiled at the show was the fabulous Numptia Superyacht. The 70 meter superyacht was the top attraction at this years event. Built by the Italian shipyard Rossinavi Yachtscan, The Numptia was built by the finest craftsmen in the world. With interiors done by Salvagni Architetti of Rome, the large vessel is designed using a lot of natural materials such as wood and stone. Every aspect on the ship was custom made including the vases, rugs and  china. The attention to detail can be seen in every corner of the ship. From the clear walled plunge pool, to the marble soaking tub, Designer Achille Salvagni painstakingly searched out the best products he could find and had them custom made to fit his design.    The Numptia accommodates up to 12 guests in six different suites which includes a full master suite.  The boat also entertains a library, full bar,  theater room an elevator and helicopter landing pad.

If you are looking to buy a motor yacht, the Numptia just went up for sale for a mere $85,000,000. Or if you would like to take it out for a weekly spin, the ship will cost about $690,000 per week.

The ships sun deck has a touch-and-go helicopter landing area, and a clear walled swimming pool.  Why clear?   Because it’s cool!
